Parent Info
Many opportunities exist for parental involvement at Del Sur School and in the Westside Union School District. At the district level, parents are encouraged to participate on the District Advisory Committee and District English Language Advisory Committee. At Del Sur, parents serve on the School Site Council, the Safety Committee, and the English Learner Advisory Committee. PTSA is a strong positive force on campus, providing a variety of educational support and services to our students. In addition, many parents volunteer regularly in their children’s classrooms. Parents are invited to attend our Parent University nights with themes ranging from specific curriculum nights, AVID, cyberbullying awareness, and how to help your student succeed in school. This year we are also offering a parent support group for foster parents and a Latino Literacy group for ELL parents.
Uniform Complaint Procedures
The Westside Union School District has the primary responsibility for compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. We have established Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) to address allegations of unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying, and complaints alleging violation of state or federal laws governing educational programs, the charging of unlawful pupil fees and the non-compliance of our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
