Dear Del Sur Dragon Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! On behalf of our entire Del Sur administration, faculty, and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome our students and families to another exciting year of learning, growth, friendship, and Dragon pride!

At Del Sur Senior Elementary School, we believe every student deserves to feel known, valued, supported, and inspired. Our theme for this year, “Every Dragon. Every Voice. Every Day.” reflects our commitment to recognizing the unique strengths of every student, encouraging every voice, and working together each day to help all Dragons succeed.

We are incredibly proud of the dedicated teachers, support staff, and families who make Del Sur such a special place. Our staff members are committed to maintaining high expectations while providing the encouragement, structure, and support students need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Through collaboration, meaningful relationships, and a shared belief in our students, we are building a school community where every Dragon can soar.

This year, our students will have many exciting opportunities to explore, create, and discover. Our TK–6 students will continue developing valuable problem-solving and technology skills through Project Lead the Way coding experiences. Students in grades 7 and 8 will participate in our Paxton-Patterson College and Career Ready Labs, including exciting learning opportunities in robotics, flight and drone technology, and other career-focused fields. These programs allow students to connect classroom learning to real-world careers while developing creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and perseverance.

Our commitment to the whole child remains at the heart of everything we do. Through Response to Intervention, specialized academic support, counseling services, positive behavior systems, and collaboration among teachers, specialists, and families, we will work to ensure students receive the support they need. Our goal is not simply to help students complete assignments, but to help them become confident, responsible, compassionate, and resilient learners.

We know that strong schools are built through strong partnerships. Families are encouraged to remain connected through ParentSquare, attend school events, communicate regularly with teachers, and participate in opportunities such as PTSA, School Site Council, ELAC, and our attendance, academic, safety, and school culture committees. Every family brings valuable experiences, ideas, and perspectives to our Dragon community.

We are preparing for a year filled with joyful learning, meaningful connections, exciting challenges, and unforgettable accomplishments. Whether your family is joining Del Sur for the first time or returning for another wonderful year, please know that you are an important part of our Dragon Family.
